This session looks into ways of improving quality of care: through health system-wide approaches, micro- or meso-level interventions. Experts will discuss challenges, and opportunities for synergy and scale. Specifically, the session will share lessons on scale-up from ongoing or recently completed maternal and newborn care quality improvement programmes focused on health facility settings in LMICs. A panel debate, with interactive audience participation, will highlight remaining challenges and possible avenues for improving coherence between quality initiatives at the point of care and governance for health systems quality.
